As the preparations for “The 1st World Environment Summit” - Middle East Dialogue - ‘Bahrain 2011′ and “The Sustainable Planet Film Festival” are on its final stage, invitations have been sent and the  Summit Programme are  prepared and soon would be available in the website.  Under the Patronage of His Excellency, Dr. Abdul Hussain Ali Mirza, The Minister – Ministry of Oil & Gas, and  Chairman of the National Oil & Gas Authority – NOGA, Kingdom of Bahrain, we are glad to announce  that the Summit would be honoured with the presence and participation  of HRH’s in Europe and the Middle East, the attendance of His Excellencies -  Ministers from Europe and Asia  giving  Keynote addresses.  This exclusive  Summit involving high profiled, powerful  Key Speakers have  re-affirmed their  topics providing independent and scientifically based advice on the environment and sustainable development.

Meanwhile, over 200 exclusive environmental  organisations;  companies’ Chiefs; government senior officials and  Ambassadors and Members of the diplomatic community from different nations will attend.  Furthermore,   “The Sustainable Planet Film  Festival” attracted 14 Key Speakers and compilation of  short films will be shown addressing sustainable development, environmental activities and knowledge based participation from Europe, North America and  Asia.  Exclusive video clips would highlight the importance in the development of strategic actions and case studies.

This  Summit is a  continuation of “The First Global Environment Conference” held on 20th June 2009 under the Patronage of His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and “The 2nd Global Environment Conference and Exhibition” under the Patronage of His Excellency, The Minister, Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro, The  Minister, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.  These two national and regional conferences were held in order to raise awareness,  campaign hard and discuss if not highlight the severity of environmental issues and the current world  problems; engage into  dialogue leading to strategies and course of actions.  The two successful events were attended by over 150 invited delegates and confirmed Key Speakers of about 25 who are CEO’s and Chairmen of companies highlighted  total involvement on  major environmental and sustainable developments of their companies.  While the Government Keynote Speakers emphasis laws and regulations to meet the commitment, compliance and accountabilities.

With objectives such as “providing capacity building by sharing experiences and perspectives; knowledge from each other and recognising areas where viewpoints transcend national perspectives, when collectively agreed   is vital for a more sustainable development in the Middle East Region.”

“The strength of networking and sharing ideas, leading to engagement with colleagues and associates with whom have common purpose and goals would lead to policy debate and developments; endorsing statements thru agreements and then endorsements.”

This Summit aim to encourage a forum and  debate controversial issues;  contribute to on going and planned policies and improve understanding on global issues between  leadership and nations.  Encourage engagement and collaboration with different companies; and use it as a platform to determine future actions relative to sustainability and environment protection and conservation.

In the words of Crystal International Chairperson,  Mina Leonora V. Lee,   Organiser and Summit Architect  and the Chairman of  the Summit Advisory & Executive  Committee, the Summit would “tackle crucial environment and sustainable  issues  with global perspective, leading to commitment and compliance of everyone involved!”.

The Summit has been organised and hosted by Crystal International, PJ Investments Asia and Crystal Environment Foundation in Cooperation with The Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife; The Ministry of Oil and Gas  and  The Ministry of Industry and Commerce.  It is also supported by the Federation of Gulf Cooperating Countries Chamber of Commerce – FGCCC.
